Brother Knights

If you were not at our Past Grand Knight's Appreciation Dinner honoring PGK Frank Costa and his wife Audrey, you missed one of the best functions of the year! Our Past Grand Knights attended in great numbers, and their support was greatly appreciated by Yours Truly, who had the honor of serving as Master of ceremonies for the evening. Hosting the event was Grand Knight Ron Silva. Our thanks to Ron for providing the delicious finger food before our dinner. We all need to support Ron as he leads our council into the millenium.

An honored guest was Ida Fusilero, wife of PGK Nap. We were very happy that she was able to attend. I know we all have many fond memories of Nap.

We are all overjoyed to have Father Tony back as our chaplain. In the old days, we would have said "He is dy-no-mite!" Thank you, Father Tony!

Welcome to our new Financial Secretary, Brother Greg Jones. I am sure Brother Joe Asbury is happy! Thank you, Joe, for all your hard work these past years. Stop by for a donut!

Thanks to Brother Machi for a great closing prayer. Thanks, also, Mike for all your hard work. I think it was you who got me into this mess...just kidding!

I cannot go without mentioning a certain PGK. He was again true to form, composing a great ballad in honor of the occasion honoring PGK Frank. Some people say that they have seen a crouched figure knocking at his door a few days before the PGK Dinner. Could this be the messenger delivering him the notes for his composition ? Thank you, PGK Dave Melander. You are an inspiration to me and to our council .

Again , we cannot say enough words to express our sincere appreciation for all the hard work done by PGK Frank during his tenure, and for the support Audrey gave to him and to all of us. Thank you, Frank and Audrey, and God bless you.

Your Friend Forever,
PGK Rich Garcia

Celebrating Grand Knight Frank Costa
Tune : This Land is Your Land by Woodie Guthrie
Words by PGK Dave Melander

Chorus:
This night's a great night, for celebrating
Grand Knight Frank Costa, and first Lady Audrey
A year of serving, Church, priests, and Council
Our Families and our Community

Verse 1
A twenty -five year member, Knights of Columbus
Frank served our Council, most of its proud history
I asked him why he finally agreed, the Grand Knight to be
He said, because I told him, "it was a fun way
to learn to handle stress, most naturally"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chorus

Verse 2
Knight's highlights this year, for Frank are many
St. Elizabeth Seton Ground breaking, the Crab feed,
. . . . . Men's Church Retreat
Altar Server's outing, Family Friendship Dinner
Knight's State Convention, Pancake Breakfasts, and
. . . . . Bargain Coupon Weekday Golf
Verse 3
Frank sometimes called a few, Brother Knights together
At a local golf range, to solve some Knightly matters
He found that bringing folks together, hitting that little ball
Helped him make those big calls for the Knights
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chorus
Verse 4
A year as grand Knight, Frank's more relaxed and mellow
Not like a "locomotive blowing off steam coming around the
bend"
You might hear him sing now, his favorite song from long ago
The smooth , romantic melody, "Moon Glow"
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chorus
(interlude to the tune of Moon Glow)
It must have been the Moon-Glow
Way up in the blue
Audrey please always remember
That Moon-glow that gave me you
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Chorus
