Grand Knight's Message
Spring is almost here... the season of new beginnings. The weather is milder, sun is out longer, and pollen is making people sneeze. Let me start by thanking everyone for helping make the 2020 Crabfeed fundraiser a success. You may have set up tables, helped with the auction, served dinner, or bought tickets and enjoyed dinner. However, you participated, you all had a hand in helping to raise monies that Council 6043 will donate to needy, Catholic-aligned charities.,
It’s also the Lenten season. Consider what the journey means these 40 days for each of us. Maybe that can be your 10 minutes a day for the Lent and Easter. Also pray for another successful membership drive. It could be a new beginning for a few Catholic gentlemen to leverage their talents and time for the betterment of the CCoP parish and community. We will have information tables in the vestibules after each mass the weekend of March 7/8. If you know of a prospect, talk about your motivation for becoming a Knight and describe the events that you’ve helped with. Introduce them to our Worthy Chancellor, Michael Schibler, who can provide more insight and answer their trickier questions.
The month of March will also be busy with the following: donut socials (1st weekend), officers’/Council meetings, degree ceremony, insurance event, St. Patrick’s Day dinner, blood drive and Men’s Retreat. Please consider helping when you read the Sign Up Genius invitations for some of these. More information will also be conveyed at the business meeting on the 12th.
Also - in the spirit of new beginnings - we’re about to transition to another Columbian year. This means another cadre of leaders will head up Council 6043 for 2020-2021. If you’re considering one of the leadership positions, please contact myself or DGK Mike Martin. There’re a few weeks before we have to nail down the slate of officers. Please pray and think about beginning a new role in the Council. See you next Thursday.
